PwC bolsters financial services regulatory business

Andrzej Wieckowski joins PwC from Allen and Overy, where he led on a range of regulatory engagements, including strategic business transformation and regulatory change projects

PwC UK has appointed Andrzej Wieckowski as a new director for its financial services regulatory business.

Joining PwC’s market leading risk and regulatory advisory practice, he will advise financial services clients on the current regulatory environment and upcoming reforms thereto.

Wieckowski joins PwC from Allen and Overy, where he led on a range of regulatory engagements, including strategic business transformation and regulatory change projects for global banks, asset managers and fintechs.

Working alongside partners Kevin King, David Selden and Annalie Croney, he will be supporting the development of PwC’s financial services regulatory legal offering to complement PwC’s existing capabilities in Legal, New Law, Consulting, Technology, Tax, Risk Assurance and Accounting.

Teresa Owusu-Adjei, head of legal at PwC UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrzej to our Legal business and further strengthen our growing financial services legal practice as we expand out our capability in the regulatory space and maximise the synergies with our wider Financial Services Regulatory practice in the firm.”

Kevin King, financial services legal lead at PwC UK, said: “Andrzej is a significant enhancement to our multidisciplinary financial services practice. Our legal team in financial services plays an increasingly pivotal role helping our clients handle key challenges in a way which builds trust in the sector.”

Wieckowski added: “I’m delighted to be joining PwC at a time of unprecedented disruption in the industry. The world is changing at a rapid pace and this is having a fundamental impact on the financial services industry.

“Institutions are looking at their businesses through the prism of new challenges and possibilities, which require a holistic assessment that goes beyond solely analysing legal or regulatory issues.”

He continued: “I look forward to enhancing PwC’s comprehensive offering by bringing my financial services regulatory and legal experience to the business and its clients.”
