PWC hires senior advisor to its sports team

Robert Elstone has joined as a senior advisor in the firm’s sports business advisory team on a part time basis

PwC has announced that Robert Elstone has joined as a senior advisor in the firm’s sports business advisory team on a part time basis.

Elstone joins PwC from Super League Rugby where as executive chairman he played a key role in securing the organisation’s independence, restructure and rebrand. 

His time in charge saw a significant growth in both TV audiences and commercial revenues, and attracted a substantial offer of private equity investment.

Prior to joining Super League, Robert spent 13 years at Everton Football Club, the majority as chief executive. Robert also held a senior role at Sky Sports, managing the broadcaster’s commercial and media interests in four Premier League clubs, and “has considerable experience advising sports organisations”.  

At PwC, Robert will support the growth of the sports practice and provide extensive industry knowledge and experience. His 25 years of experience in the sports industry combined with PwC’s core capabilities will “enable the firm’s sports business advisory team to create further value for its sports sector clients”.
