Accountancy and business advisory firm Smith Cooper has announced that the financial year to 31 March 2019 has been its “most successful yet”, with group revenue increasing by 25% to c.£19m and profits up from the prior year.
The firm said the majority of its growth was organic and across all service lines and locations, with “substantial uplift” in the revenue generated from the firm’s specialist service lines. Smith Cooper has also increased its share of the audit and assurance market in key locations.
James Bagley, managing partner, said: “After a strong FY18, a challenging target was set for FY19 which I am delighted to say that we have surpassed by some considerable distance. Most pleasing is that the strong performance witnessed by the group is across all component parts of our business and shows the positive profile that Smith Cooper continues to generate across our core locations, and furthermore that the substantial investment we have made into people and processes is yielding positive rewards.
“Our stated ambition is to continue to develop the group’s service offering and in turn its market share within our core locations and beyond, and we continually look to achieve this by reinvesting profits in the business, by attracting the very best people at all levels of seniority and to consider strategic acquisitions which would complement the markets and clients we serve.”
