Johnston Carmichael has bolstered its leadership team with two senior promotions in its Business Advisory team. This includes the promotion of Jenn Stewart, head of the firm’s Dundee office, to partnership, and the promotion of Elspeth Jamieson to director.

Stewart joined Johnston Carmichael in 2019 to launch and lead the firm’s Dundee team, and she was appointed as the firm’s head of Rural and Landed Estates in 2021.

In addition to her office and sector head roles, Stewart is also a member of Johnston Carmichael’s People and Culture Forum, leading the CSR subgroup.

Meanwhile, Jamieson joined the firm in 2016 and was “integral” to developing its cloud accounting service offering to help clients drive efficiencies. She has since transitioned into managing a variety of client relationships, collaborating with specialists across the business to deliver advisory work whilst continuing to secure compliance

Jamieson recently joined the firm’s specialist Hospitality and Tourism sector team, while also advising clients across a range of other sectors including technology, food and drink, professional services, and construction and property.

The promotions form part of the firm’s growth plans and commitment to developing its own leaders. Overall, the business has promoted 70 people this year as it seeks to grow its own across all levels and areas.

Andrew Walker, Johnston Carmichael chief executive, said: “I’d like to congratulate Jenn and Elspeth on their well-deserved promotions, which recognise the significant contribution they have made to the business. Supporting and developing the next generation of leaders is central to our growth ambitions and defines who we are as a firm.

“It gives me great pride that we have promoted 70 people to date this year. Their commitment and passion are key to delivering the high-quality client services for which we are renowned in the marketplace.”
