AICPA and CIMA suspend services in Russia and Belarus

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) have announced they will indefinitely suspend services in Russia and Belarus amid the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

This includes the provision of in-market membership activities for AICPA and CIMA members, and CIMA examinations including the Professional Qualification, the Certificate in Performance Management in Russian, the Advanced Diploma in Performance Management in Russian, and the Certificate in Business Accounting.

In a recent statement, both institutes said they acknowledge this will affect many members and students who are “caught up in the situation”.

Additionally, AICPA and CIMA added that they are supporting affected staff through these “very difficult” times.

They also revealed that they will continue to provide tools and resources to help professionals outside of Russia and Belarus to “manage the widespread impact this crisis will have on all economies, businesses, and societies around the world”.

AICPA and CIMA said: “We wholeheartedly stand with the people of Ukraine and join many voices around the world in calling for peace. Our thoughts are with members, students and staff devastated by the Russian military invasion.

“We remain deeply saddened by what is happening in Ukraine – especially the loss of life and livelihoods – and we fully support a swift and peaceful resolution. We will share updates as the situation continues to evolve.”
