Independent Welsh accountancy firm Bevan Buckland has announced the appointment of Carlos Tseng as a new marketing assistant at the group.
The addition, which will take place later this year, has been made through the government’s “kickstart scheme”.
The scheme was established to support 16-24-year-olds find placements, as well as providing longer-term support, CV and interview preparation services, and skills development.
Harri Lloyd Davies, partner at the company, said: “We’ve enjoyed having people like Carlos who has been keen to learn and develop his career with us.
“Over the past few months, many more colleagues achieved their ACCA qualifications and we are welcoming a fresh intake of young people to our in-house training academy. It’s a really exciting time for us and we look forward to meeting all future challenges ahead.”
Headquartered in Swansea, Bevan Buckland provides accountancy, tax compliance and advisory, and strategic advice to small to mid-sized entities.
Tseng said that the firm is a “forward-looking business which also values technology and innovation”, as well as retaining local talent “instead of letting it drift eastwards”.
He added: “The company creates opportunities for young people in Wales and it’s great to see so many young people working their way up here too.
“In Swansea, we have two universities and it is places like Bevan Buckland LLP that vastly improves prospects for graduates and students, so that’s very encouraging to see.”
