Grant Thornton welcomes ‘record’ number of new graduates

So far this year, the firm has also welcomed 20 partners to the partnership, following 13 partner appointments in 2020

Grant Thornton has said it has welcomed a “record number” of new graduates and school leavers across its January and September intakes this year, with over 450 people joining the firm in 2021.

Some 350 trainees are due to start their employment in September, with the firm recently making their offers unconditional, meaning they will not be impacted by upcoming exam results, due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

So far this year, the firm has also welcomed 20 partners to the partnership, following 13 partner appointments in 2020. Across its service lines, the firm has also hired around 400 “experienced” staff members to help support client demand.

Perry Burton, head of people and culture at Grant Thornton, said: “After another year of interruption to education due to the pandemic, we want to provide reassurance to all our new graduate and school leaver joiners that the disruption will not have a negative impact on their career with Grant Thornton.

“As part of our commitment to inclusion and diversity we have a flexible approach to academic requirements and know that academic performance in isolation is not an indicator of future success.”

He added: “Our continued investment in wellbeing, development and inclusion is something that is really setting us apart and helping retain our great people, as well as being a powerful message in attracting new talent.”
