Thomas Westcott, a chartered accountancy firm with offices in south west England, has announced Peter Lomax as new partner in Weston-super-Mare.

Lomax brings 24 years’ accountancy experience from KPMG to his new role alongside leading global firms in financial services and audit practices in the south-west.

Throughout his KPMG career, Lomax has worked in America as well as offices in Bristol and Reading, advising clients across the board on financial, manufacturing and technology matters.

He said: “My previous role as an audit director for KPMG focused on large companies, many of which were based in London. However, small and medium sized businesses are crucial to the south west region’s economy and the individuals they employ.

“I’m really looking forward to connecting back to those businesses and applying my experience to help them tackle the complex issues they face.”

Lomax added: “I’m excited to be joining such a great team and helping them to continue their growth in Somerset. My priority will be to ensure we keep helping our clients in the best way we can, understanding their businesses so we can provide them with the expertise they need.”

Shona Godefroy managing partner at Thomas Westcott said: “Peter has an impressive background and experience in advising a diverse range of businesses.

“His appointment is a reflection of our commitment to Somerset, where our specialists are serving a growing client base, as well as adding considerable expertise to our wider team supporting businesses across the south west.”
