MHA has announced the promotion of David Stone to the position of partner, strengthening its corporate tax team in Milton Keynes

Stone, who operates from the firm’s integrated Milton Keynes and Northampton offices, first joined MHA as a director in 2023 following a 15-year career in corporate tax at two top 10 firms.

The corporate tax specialist is a qualified chartered tax adviser and chartered accountant. He leads the national post-transactional and tax and ESG advisory services for MHA, which is the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International.

Stone advises mid-market and international businesses on corporate tax matters. His clients span sectors including construction, real estate, energy, industrial, automotive, manufacturing and engineering.

The firm’s Milton Keynes and Northampton offices offer compliance and advisory services. These include entrepreneurial tax, ESG-related tax, customs, VAT, human capital advisory, wealth management, due diligence and post-transaction advisory.

Rachel Nutt, tax partner at Milton Keynes, said: “Our Milton Keynes office is a hub for our tax services across central England, supporting hundreds of clients in Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and the East of England. Combined with the expertise at our Northampton office, we have built the largest tax team of any advisory firm in the region.

“To continue to ensure we offer the highest quality service to our clients, it’s vital to invest in our expertise. Since David’s arrival at MHA, he has made a huge impact, built strong personal client relationships and provided high-quality advice to support their national and international growth.”

She added: “His promotion to Partner will further strengthen the leadership of our central tax team and help position MHA for continued sustainable growth over the coming years.”

Stone added: “Since joining MHA three years ago, I have been incredibly proud to be able to work alongside such a talented team of advisers, who collaborate to share expertise and provide the very best service to clients.

“Our growth in the central region has been driven by the relationship we have with our clients. It is a truly exciting time for the firm, and I am excited to play my part in a leadership role as we continue our impressive growth journey.”
