Professional services group DJH has increased its regional revenue from £3.5m to nearly £14m over the last five years following expansion across Cheshire and Liverpool.

More than 100 professionals met at Chester Racecourse last week to mark the firm’s growth milestone.

DJH first entered the Chester market in 2021 by acquiring Morris and Co at Cheshire Oaks Business Park. Regional revenues grew to £8m after DJH integrated Haines Watts Chester last year.

The firm further expanded through its Liverpool office and the acquisition of SB and P in Bootle, bringing total revenue across the four regional offices to the current £14m figure.

Regional headcount rose by 90 people to 152 during the period, including 40 trainees.

The firm, which is backed by private equity firm Tenzing, recently partnered with Loucas. The deal marked its 20th acquisition since 2020 and brought its total workforce across the UK and Ireland to more than 800 people.

DJH recently updated its Cheshire Oaks office. The firm provides accounts, outsourcing, auditing, tax planning, research and development incentives, wealth management, and employment advice.

The Chester team advises owner-managed companies, franchise businesses, ophthalmic practices, and more than 2,500 dentists across the UK.

Chester director Desirie Lea said: “We recognised early on the potential that Cheshire and Liverpool offered and have spent the last five years building an accountancy and professional services offer that understands the local market and has the necessary resource – across auditing, accounting, tax and corporate finance – to unlock its potential.

“The last 12 months have seen us more than double in size and there are plans in place for us to increase revenues across the region to £16m by 2027 – this will be achieved through organic growth and enhanced specialist services offered across the group.”

She added: “The event was about celebrating our commitment to Cheshire and Liverpool. We brought together over 100 professionals from across the region, including accountants, business advisers, solicitors, bankers, and other specialists, for an evening of networking and conversation.

“We believe the best outcomes for clients happen when the right people know each other and work together. This celebration was a great opportunity to strengthen those connections and to celebrate what’s been a remarkable period of growth for us here.”

Chief operating officer James Beardmore said: “Cheshire and Liverpool are full of opportunity, and we now have the team, the expertise, and the infrastructure to make the most of it.

“Both areas boast dynamic, growing economies, and we’re excited to be part of that story. Our focus now is on deepening our relationships with clients and the wider business community in the region, continuing to attract great people, and making sure our local teams have everything they need to do brilliant work.”
