Saffery has unveiled a series of director appointments across its tax services practice, with Kate Huggett, Phoebe Hindlet, Robert John and Evan Tuck joining the team.
The firm said the appointments will strengthen its capability across corporate tax advisory, compliance, transfer pricing, and tax technology and transformation advisory, and form part of the firm’s plans to double the size of its tax services to businesses by 2029.
As part of this expansion, Saffery is making investments across people and technology, including over 50 new hires and a net increase in headcount of 14%.
Included in the new hires is Kate Huggett, who brings “extensive” experience advising corporate groups, international clients and owner-managed businesses on UK corporate tax matters, including restructurings, transactions and ongoing advisory support. Her main focus is real estate.
Meanwhile, Phoebe Hindlet joined in January as a specialist advising businesses on complex capital allowances matters, combining in-depth technical tax knowledge with practical construction and cost analysis expertise.
Robert John brings over 15 years’ experience delivering technology-enabled tax solutions for complex organisations, most recently as global head of tax technology transformation at Diageo.
Finally, Evan Tuck joined the firm in February as a director, specialising in transfer pricing. He brings “deep” technical expertise in transfer pricing design, documentation and dispute resolution.
Sean McGinness, national tax partner, said: “We’ve set ourselves ambitious targets for the growth of our tax services to corporates and a key part of our strategy is bringing on board exceptional senior talent.
“High calibre people like Kate, Phoebe, Rob and Evan bring a depth of experience that will be invaluable to clients as they navigate ongoing change, technological disruption and heightened demands, and we’re very pleased to be welcoming them to Saffery.”
