Spurling Cannon has expanded into Tonbridge following the acquisition of Cantium Accountants, completing the deal on 1 October 2025 and marking its third office in Kent.
Cantium Accountants was founded in 2002 by Andrew Bradley and has operated in Tonbridge for more than two decades.
The acquisition follows Bradley’s decision to plan for retirement and secure a successor firm to continue serving clients and staff. He will remain involved in the business until late December to support the transition before retiring.
As part of the transaction, three members of the Cantium team have transferred to Spurling Cannon and will continue working from the Tonbridge office.
Jana, Gillian and Simla will remain in client-facing roles, providing continuity of service.
The Tonbridge office will be led by director Sam Graham, who grew up locally and will oversee the integration of the practice into Spurling Cannon’s wider operations.
Spurling Cannon already operates from offices in Ramsgate and Charing, near Ashford. The firm said the addition of Tonbridge strengthens its presence across Kent and supports its plans for further regional growth.
The independently owned accountancy firm employs more than 70 staff and has nine directors. It said it plans to invest further in the Tonbridge office, with additional recruitment and service expansion expected over the next year.
Graham said: “I’m really looking forward to getting to know Cantium’s clients and supporting local businesses across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. Our goal is to provide the same approachable, personal service clients expect, with the added benefit of the wider resources, expertise and specialist knowledge available across Spurling Cannon.”
Bradley added: “What mattered was finding a firm whose ethos matched ours – professional, friendly, and focused on doing things properly. I’m confident our clients and staff are in very safe hands with Spurling Cannon.”
