Azets has advised JGP Holdings on its acquisition of GrayAreas, a well-established care provider based in South Devon.

The transaction secures the long-term future of GrayAreas’ care homes and supports JGP’s ambition to expand its presence across the West Country. The transaction was funded by Thincats.

JGP Holdings was founded by two experienced care sector professionals with the goal of building a consolidated group of high-quality care homes in the region.

Established in 2002, GrayAreas operates two care homes in Paignton: Kingsmouth Residential Home, an award-winning facility offering residential and dementia care in an engaging and supportive environment, and Mount Olivet Nursing Home, which specialises in advanced nursing care delivered by a skilled and compassionate team.

The shareholders of JGP Holdings were advised by Azets Corporate Finance partners Katherine Broadhurst and associate director Tash Hill and Azets Tax led by Iain Sanderson, as well as legal advice by Rebecca Leask and Franzi Poxon of HCR Law. Funding advice was provided by Forvis Mazars.

Peter Angelides, director of JGP Holdings, said: “We’re extremely grateful for the pragmatic and insightful support provided by the Azets team, led by Katherine Broadhurst and Tash Hill. This was a significant acquisition for our group, supporting our ongoing strategy to grow a high-quality care business across the West Country.”

John Griffiths, director of JGP Holdings, added: “The strength of our relationship with Azets gave us complete confidence throughout the process. Their understanding of our goals and the trust we’ve built together make them an invaluable partner, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on future transactions.”

Broadhurst said: “This is an exciting acquisition for JGP Holdings, and an important step in their longer-term strategy for the group in this vital sector in the South West. It is a pleasure working with John and Peter, and Tash and I look forward to continuing to support them with future transactions.”

Azets is an international business advisory group with regional offices in Truro, Plymouth, Blandford Forum, South Molton, Gloucester, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Nottingham and Tamworth.
