Ballards LLP has secured three “prestigious” nominations for the upcoming Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2025, which is said to “underscore the firm’s dedication to technical excellence, innovative solutions and exceptional client service across the tax practice”.
The West Midlands-based firm has been shortlisted in three categories: ‘Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm’, ‘Tax Mentor of the Year’ for partner Phil Waller, and ‘Taxation’s Rising Star’ for associate director Gina Gardner.
As this is not Ballards LLP’s first appearance on the Tolley’s shortlist, the firm believes this reflects its “consistent position amongst the UK’s elite tax professionals”.
The firm attributed its nomination for ‘Best Tax Practice’ to its “impressive” growth throughout 2024, featuring three fully integrated departments that collaborate to deliver comprehensive client service.
Waller’s nomination celebrates his dedication to professional development within the firm. Colleagues have praised his willingness to invest time explaining concepts, providing thoughtful guidance, and sharing valuable insights.
Meanwhile, Gardner’s nomination acknowledges her contributions as chair of Ballards LLP’s Next Gen Board and her strategic expansion beyond R&D specialisation into more complex advisory areas.
The Tolley’s Taxation Awards is said to be “exceptionally” rigorous, with hundreds of firms and individuals submitting applications annually.
The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony scheduled for Thursday 8 May 2025.
