RSM has announced the appointment of Pete Adams as its new office managing partner in Hull.

Adams joined RSM in 2019 as an audit partner and leads RSM’s audit team in the Hull and Humber region. With over 20 years’ experience, he has expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), UK and US GAAP.

He takes over the role from Andy Capes, who will remain a senior partner in the Hull office, driving growth across the firm’s national consulting team and advising businesses across the Humber region.

In his new role, Adams will help to drive the firm’s growth strategy and lead the regional team to deliver for RSM’s clients as go-to advisers to the middle market. He will also continue in his audit partner role.

Adams said: “At RSM, we’re proud to be the only global accountancy firm with an office in Hull, with our exceptional team playing a key role in supporting businesses to drive regional and UK economic growth.

“Our recent office refurbishment and new 10-year lease demonstrates our continued investment in the region and our people. Andy will continue to have a fundamental role in shaping this culture and our future growth plans, and I look forward to working with him and the wider partner group to achieve this.”

Mike Thornton, RSM UK’s regional managing partner in Yorkshire and the Humber, added: “Our approach to developing talent at RSM is a long-term commitment and enabling our people to progress into leadership roles is a key part of our strategy. It is very fulfilling to see Pete and Andy take on new responsibilities at RSM, which will help to shape and grow different aspects of our firm.

“I’d like to thank Andy for his excellent stewardship of the Hull office for the last 17 years, and I look forward to working closely with Pete and the team to realise our ambitious growth strategy and continue to help our middle market clients across local, national and international markets navigate an ever-evolving business environment.”
