Simmons Gainsford has announced that former PwC senior audit partner Andrew Hill has joined the firms’ audit team.
Hill brings a wealth of experience from his distinguished career as a senior audit partner at PwC where he spent over 36 years.
Simmons Gainsford said he has “deep expertise” in financial services, retail businesses, controls assessments, IFRS, FRS 102, and both group and standalone entity audits.
It added his knowledge will be “invaluable” in strengthening the firms’ London-based audit practice.
Founded in 1948, Simmons Gainsford is a chartered accountancy and advisory firm, with offices in Central London and in East Sussex and Gibraltar. It services entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses across multiple sectors.
The firm joined the Sumer Group back in December 2023 joining existing members such as Monahans, RMT Accountants, R.T. Marke and Jerroms.
Hill said: “When I retired from PwC, I knew I wanted to continue with something audit related and so I came across Simmons Gainsford as part of my search. I was excited by the growth plans, the business model with Sumer, and the role envisioned for me. But most importantly, I really liked the people I met during the interview process.
“I was attracted by SG’s focus on SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses and by the firm’s wider capabilities and services which are client focused. I am very much looking forward to learning more about this as I settle in.”
