HWB Chartered Accountants has teamed up with a local dementia charity – Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW – its charity partner for the firm’s fundraising efforts in the coming year.
The firm will stage a series of fundraisers in the coming weeks, starting with a staff Christmas bake-off and a seasonal online gaming competition, which is open to all.
Staff members will then help out with fundraising by volunteering.
A number of fundraising initiatives are being planned for 2025, including sponsored events to tie in with the firm’s 40th anniversary, which will be celebrated in the summer.
The help that Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW offers people living with dementia and their loved ones includes peer support groups, events, activities and outings.
Helen Hamblen, chief executive of the charity, said: “We offer comprehensive support from the initial signs of memory loss and throughout the dementia journey for individuals with dementia, their families, friends and caregivers.
“We are hugely grateful to HWB for choosing us as their charity partner for 2025 and look forward to working with them to raise much needed funds to enable us to provide support over the coming year.”
Michaela Johns, director at HWB, added: “We’re keen to offer as much support as we can to a charity that does such crucial work across our local community.”
In the past two years, HWB has supported Mountbatten Hampshire, the county’s oldest and largest hospice, as the firm’s main charity, raising over £8,500.
Fundraising activities by team members have included sky dives, marathons, bake-offs, ‘tough mudder’ challenges and other events.
