Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC have announced that they have appointed BDO as its administrators.
James Stephen, Malcolm Cohen and Shane Crooks from the firm have been appointed as joint administrators as of 22 October.
As a result of this the administrators have relieved manager Duncan Ferguson and two of his coaches of their duties.
Other players and staff are expected to hear if they still have jobs today (24 October).
Administrators are attempting to find new owners to rescue the club, if that fails, assets could be sold and the money raised distributed to creditors.
A spokesperson at BDO said: “We can confirm a formal appointment has been made and Inverness Caledonian Thistle is now in administration. We understand this will be a difficult and uncertain time for the club, its staff, its loyal fan base and the local community. The Administrators will be in a position to provide further information and their plan to seek to secure the long term future of the Club in due course.”
Inverness have had 15 points deducted as a result of administration, meaning they face potential relegation from Scottish League 1.
Should the club survive they will start next season on -5 points regardless of what division they are in.
