South West-based chartered accountants, tax consultants and financial planners, Albert Goodman has bolstered its presence in Yeovil by moving into new offices in the Somerset town.

The company’s leadership team has promised to create new jobs in the area in a move that strengthens its commitment to Yeovil, as well as new and existing clients across the business community in Somerset and Dorset.

Relocating from Hendford Manor to premises on Lupin Way, the new 4820 sq feet of modern office space was launched at a special event on Friday, May 24.

Lyndsay Blackshaw, partner at Albert Goodman, who leads the Yeovil team, said: “Investment in our new premises represents a long-term commitment to Yeovil as Albert Goodman strengthens its position as one of the South West’s leading accountancy practices.

“The business sector in and around Yeovil is really thriving and we are excited at the prospect of being at the heart of a vibrant commercial community, supporting company growth and continuing to provide expert business guidance to our new and existing clients.”

She added: “To support our progress, we are always on the look-out for brilliant new recruits and our work space will not only allow for expansion but will also help Albert Goodman attract the talented apprentices who will bolster our team later this year.”

Blackshaw will be joined by other key Albert Goodman personnel including fellow partner Richard Bugler and a 40-strong team which offers specialist business services and outsourced finance support, tax, payroll, VAT and financial planning advice.

After opening a new workspace in Bristol city centre last year, Albert Goodman secured B-Corp status which it said reflected its “enhanced commitment to environmental and social goals.

Iain McVicar, managing partner of Albert Goodman, added: “Thanks to the leadership of Lyndsay and Richard, their talented Yeovil team has gone from strength to strength and the new office will help maintain the momentum they’ve generated.

“As a B-Corp we are committed to offering our team a brilliant working environment. These new facilities provide a fantastic collaborative open-plan environment which will benefit our clients and people. At Albert Goodman, we are passionate about positive evolution and empowering our people to do the same. Our Yeovil team has been a great success and encapsulates why we are looking forward to a very bright future and further sustainable growth.”
