BHP has launched a new Listed, Accounting Valuations and Advisory service (LAVA), which will be headed up by Alex Hird, who has also been appointed partner.
Hird will oversee the delivery of the new service line, which will provide specialist accounting advisory and financial reporting valuation expertise to its ever-growing client base.
He recently joined the firm following a 14-year career encompassing various accounting and audit roles.
The LAVA service will incorporate financial reporting advisory, IPO support, purchase price allocations, share-based payment and other financial reporting valuations, as well as annual compliance work for listed groups.
Hird, who was named ‘Advisor of the Year’ at this year’s Yorkshire Accountancy Awards, will also provide expert internal support across the firm.
Hird said: “Joining BHP and launching this new service, which builds on my previous expertise, is a fantastic opportunity. The supportive and employee-centric culture at BHP attracted me to the role and I’m very much looking forward to sharing my specialisms with the team.
“The work I do with clients is very collaborative, solves audit challenges for them through my commitment to quality, and I have a real passion for delivering the service in a friendly and authentic way.”
Lisa Leighton, joint CEO of BHP, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Alex to the team and look forward to launching our new specialist Listed, Accounting Valuations and Advisory service.
“Alex has a proven track record of providing innovative solutions to businesses of all sizes, right across the country. He will bring significant expertise to BHP as we continue to grow and develop as a firm, while at the same time adding great value for our clients.”
