BHP has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of its first chief financial officer.

Graham Parker has joined BHP following a successful 15-year career encompassing roles in external audit and financial services.

Originally from Leeds and currently living in Manchester, Parker trained at one of the Big 4 accounting firms, where he remained for 11 years. During that period, he spent time working in Australia and was involved in establishing offshore teams in Bangalore.

For the last four years, Parker has worked for a Fintech company, most recently as CFO. He will have overall responsibility for the firm’s finance function and all aspects of its financial reporting, processes and controls.

Parker said: “I’m excited to be joining BHP. They have a vision and values that very much align with my own, and it’s a firm that I’m proud to be associated with. After meeting with the managing partners, who explained their ambitious plans to grow the firm and the way BHP puts its people first, I was in no doubt that I wanted to join the team.

“BHP is ideally placed to take advantage of the growth opportunities that exist across the profession, with lots of work going on behind the scenes, and it’s a huge opportunity for me to help make a difference and drive the business forward. I’m looking forward to adding value and providing insight and analysis to all departments to help improve processes and results.”

Lisa Leighton, joint managing partner at BHP, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Graham to our team. He has a proven track record of helping fast growing businesses and I know he will bring invaluable expertise to BHP as we continue to develop as a firm.

“There is a genuine opportunity for us to evolve and propel the business forward, and Graham’s extensive experience will prove invaluable in helping us to do that.”
