Dains has promoted Claire Lawrence and Carole Porter to associate director within its accounts advisory team in East Scotland, as part of its wider strategy to establish locally rooted leadership across the country.
The chartered accountancy firm said the move aligns with its continued commitment to providing “experienced, client-focused” advisory support, ensuring clients can benefit from “trusted relationships on the ground”.
Lawrence and Porter work with owner-managed businesses and SMEs across the region, offering “clear and practical” counsel to help owners assess performance, make better-informed decisions and strategise for sustainable growth.
Lawrence, based in Dunfermline, is a chartered accountant working with expanding SMEs across Fife and the broader East of Scotland to turn financial insight into business-growing decisions.
She brings more than 15 years of experience in audit and professional practice and has previously worked at Deloitte.
Based in Dundee, Porter’s career includes over 25 years of accountancy practice and saw her gain ACCA qualification in 1996.
She advises clients across hospitality, retail, engineering and manufacturing, honing in on cash flow management, business change and growth planning.
Commenting on her promotion, Lawrence said: “I’m excited to step into this role and continue building strong partnerships with our clients. I work with ambitious business owners who want clarity, confidence and practical direction, not just numbers.
“My focus is on turning financial insight into meaningful action, helping clients make informed decisions, manage risk and create sustainable momentum. Being able to do that as part of a strengthened local leadership team in the East of Scotland is incredibly exciting.”
Porter said: “I’m delighted to be moving into my new role and strengthening the relationships and trust I’ve built with my clients. Strong relationships and trusted advice sit at the heart of Dains.
“Being part of the Dains Group means I can combine that personal understanding with access to wider specialist expertise, ensuring clients receive clear, dependable advice that helps them move forward with confidence.”
Pauline Hogg, head of accounts advisory at Dains, added: “Carole and Claire are highly respected advisors with deep technical expertise and a genuine understanding of the businesses and people they support.
