Old Mill makes three partner promotions

Old Mill has promoted three senior staff to partner, taking the total number of partners at the South West-based accountancy firm to 22. From 1 July, rural accountancy specialist Phil Kirkpatrick, financial planner Stuart Coombe and audit specialist David Jones will join the partnership, in a move the company described as part of its “commitment to investing in future leaders”. Kirkpatrick joined Old Mill in 2008 after graduating from university and has specialised in rural accountancy throughout his career. He said: “From the outset of that journey, I have worked with truly inspirational colleagues and clients within the sector, who have helped shape me into the partner I am today. “I will now continue to champion and support the farming community during what is an increasingly difficult period, while at the same time keeping an eye out for those budding partners of the future.” Coombe, who also joined the firm in 2008, is a chartered financial planner and director within Old Mill’s wealth management team. He said the firm’s reputation and culture had been key to his career progression. He said: “As a progressive company, opportunities have always presented themselves, and with this promotion I am delighted to be recognised and to have the ability to help continue to push Old Mill forwards. “I look forward to mentoring the next generation of talented advisers within our wealth management team, as well as continuing to act for my existing clients, whilst working alongside my colleagues in our accountancy, tax and specialist teams.” Meanwhile, Jones, a chartered accountant, joined Old Mill’s corporate team in 2016 and specialises in audit. He said he was “completely elated” by the promotion and aimed to raise the profile of the firm’s audit services across the region. Jones said: “I have a clear vision and commitment to help make Old Mill’s audit offering in the South West truly exceptional, by focusing on risk, quality and the client experience at a time when both regulation and stakeholder demands are evolving.” Mark Neath, chief executive of Old Mill, added: “This round of partner promotions comes at a time of strategic expansion and innovation at Old Mill and reinforces the firm's commitment to investing in its people. “Stuart, David and Phil’s promotions are richly deserved and highlight the breadth of talent we have within Old Mill.
