MHA has announced three partner promotions of Julie Long, Will Johnstone and Steve Tebbutt within its London office’s audit and tax teams.

Long joins the National Assurance Specialist Advisory (NASA) team as a technical partner following nearly two decades in audit with one of the Big Four and a decade in audit inspection with the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). She will focus on audit quality enhancements.

Meanwhile, both Johnstone and Tebbutt have both been promoted from director to partner within MHA’s tax team.

Since joining the firm in 2017, Johnstone has looked after the UK tax affairs of high-net-worth individuals and wealthy families, with a particular focus on the UK side of cross-border tax issues.

Having joined earlier in 2007, Tebbutt has been promoted to tax and human capital advisory partner and will focus on helping owner-managed businesses with issues such as exit planning, employee ownership trusts, equity plans, demergers, acquisitions and remuneration planning.

James Kipping, tax partner at MHA’s London and Milton Keynes offices, said: “When we say that we are a people-first firm here at MHA, the promotions of Steve and Will and the appointment of Julie are evidence of this. We pride ourselves on achieving the right balance of both internal promotions and external appointments at the firm.

“Julie brings with her a wealth of experience from her over two decades in audit and audit quality, whilst Will and Steve have been instrumental to the recent growth of the firm’s tax practice.”

He added: Their long-standing careers here at MHA bring not only a wealth of expertise but also a strong understanding of the culture that we strive to achieve at MHA, that they can pass on to further generations here at the firm. I wish them all the very best of luck and am excited to see what they will bring within their new roles.”
