FRP has appointed Chris McKay as a new director in Cambridge, strengthening its presence in East Anglia.
A licensed insolvency practitioner, chartered accountant and mediator, accredited by the UK’s Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), McKay has more than 30 years of experience helping businesses and stakeholders to protect value in the face of insolvency and financial distress.
He will work closely with partner Richard Bloomfield to expand the firm’s restructuring presence in East Anglia, particularly giving a stronger foothold in Cambridge and surrounding areas.
His appointment comes as FRP also welcomes Ryan White as an administrator. McKay and White’s appointments follow a year of expansion for FRP, which has acquired five specialist firms including GWC on the Isle of Man. It also expanded its footprint into Wales and Northern Ireland, reinforcing its position as a leading national business advisory firm, and in early 2025 opened a new office in Bournemouth.
McKay said: “FRP has a fantastic reputation locally, and nationally, for not just the outcomes it achieves but the quality of its service. It’s exciting to be joining the team at a period of both regional and national growth for the business, and I’m looking forward to being able to draw on the full breadth of capabilities it has across its service lines and office network to deliver great outcomes for those we support.”
Bloomfield added: “Chris is one of East Anglia’s most respected insolvency practitioners and brings vast experience to the team. This, coupled with his pragmatic and empathetic approach, will make him a central part of the team as we further expand our footprint in the region.
“He brings with him an existing referral base, built over 30 years, that we look forward to supporting and growing as part of FRP.”
