Begbies Traynor has announced the appointment of Elaine Hanrahan to the role of partner in its British Virgin Islands (BVI) office.
News of the appointment comes as the firm plans to expand its practice in the BVI, which provides services to creditors, directors, shareholders and regulators in recovering funds and assets and managing cross-border litigation and enforcement.
She joins Begbies Traynor from Kroll Advisory, where she acted as liquidator of BVI companies with operations across a number of jurisdictions, including the BVI, the US, Hong Kong, PRC, Singapore and India.
Described as an accomplished insolvency practitioner, Hanrahan brings over 12 years of international experience to her new role and further enhances the firm’s capabilities in its key offshore jurisdiction.
In her new role, Hanrahan will work alongside BVI partner Brian Simpson.
Adrian Hyde, head of international and partner at Begbies Traynor, said: “We are delighted to welcome Elaine to our BVI team, where her extensive experience as an insolvency practitioner dealing with complex cross-border asset recoveries will be of immense value to our clients.
“The BVI continues to be a key hub for international businesses and financial institutions, with growing demand for advisory services in areas such as liquidation, asset recovery, and enforcement procedures. Elaine’s appointment strengthens our ability to meet these needs and reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional service across the territory.”
Hanrahan added: “I am thrilled to be joining Begbies Traynor’s BVI team, which is well-known for its deep roster of clients and wide range of expertise. I look forward to working with the team to drive the firm’s growth both in the BVI and internationally, with a particular focus on strengthening our presence across Asian markets.”
