Interpath Advisory has appointed Zohair Motiwala as a director to its Financial Services Deal Advisory practice.

His appointment further supports the expansion of Interpath’s transactions offering in the sector following several senior hires in recent months.

Motiwala has more than 15 years’ experience advising corporates and private equity clients on M&A, capital raising, debt advisory, due diligence and valuations.

He has expertise in financial modelling and analysis across a number of key verticals in financial services, including fintech, specialty finance, payments, banks, insurance, brokers and asset and wealth managers.

Motiwala joins from investment bank Alantra where he was senior vice president of M&A in its Financial Institutions Group in London. At Alantra, he was the M&A team’s valuations and modelling leader, and spearheaded some of its “most prominent” transactions across banking, debt purchase market, and specialty finance.

Moiwala will support Nick Parkhouse who was appointed by Interpath in March 2024 to head the firm’s Financial Services Deal Advisory offering in the UK.

He’ll also work alongside Stuart Mogg who leads Interpath’s Financial Services debt and Capital Advisory business; Interpath’s securitisation lead Jenna Picken; and Ed Boyle who heads restructuring for the financial services practice.

Motiwala, director at Interpath, said: “Interpath is creating a formidable team dedicated to the Financial Services market. Its independence and full service offering and focus on deploying senior counsel to support institutions is impressive, refreshing and just what the market was looking for.

“I look forward to working with Nick and the team to support our Financial Services clients achieve their growth ambitions and guide them on a wide range of advisory services, from capital raising and M&A, to navigating complex strategic situations.”
