DJH Mitten Clarke has announced the appointment of Suzy Dawson-Newbury as its new director of governance, risk and compliance.
Dawson-Newbury joins the firm from Johnston Carmichael to fill a newly-created role, following the firm’s six acquisitions in 2023 which saw the team grow to more than 300 staff across eight offices across the Midlands, North-West and Yorkshire.
Responsible for ensuring the group remains compliant through its processes, standards, and procedures, and acting as money laundering officer, she has over 20 years of experience in financial services, and recently completed her MSc in Law, Governance, Risk and Compliance.
Dawson-Newbury said: “I’m thrilled to join DJH Mitten Clarke at an incredibly exciting time for the group. The brand-new role allows me to maximise my expertise and knowledge in law, governance, risk and compliance, to contribute to the firm’s growing success in an ever-changing regulatory landscape.”
Scott Heath, CEO of DJH Mitten Clarke, added: “Appointing Suzy comes after three years of extensive development for the group in the pursuit of our ambitions. The newly-created role and department will be integral in driving our strategic growth, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining processes.
“Our people are our biggest asset, and investing in them is the key to success. I’m excited to have Suzy on board and to see her progress within the group. I know she’ll provide excellent reinforcement and go the extra mile to support our team.”
