Claritas Tax, the independent tax advisory firm with offices in Manchester, Birmingham, and Nottingham has promoted four experienced tax advisors with effect from 1 September 2023.

The firm has appointed Ses Memhi and Sam Hart to the role of partner. Memhi joined Claritas in January 2015 as employee number four, where he started as a manager within Claritas’s Corporate and Transaction Taxes teams.

The firm said he has “enjoyed a great deal of success” in building new relationships with various clients and contacts in the professional services and wider PE investment community over recent years, as well as leading Claritas’s Transactions Tax business and heading up our new Nottingham office.

Meanwhile, Hart joined the firm in October 2020 and has rapidly built the Private Client team, increasing revenues in that service line sevenfold in that time, with further strong growth forecast for 2024.

In addition both Caroline Walton and Mark Cuppello have been promoted to assistant manager and manager respectively.

Iain Wright, founding partner and head of Claritas’ Birmingham office, said: “We strongly believe in promoting a culture that develops, recognises, and rewards talent, commitment, and contribution from our people. This is a key priority for us. I am very pleased to congratulate all four team members, who have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and drive to their respective line of work and the clients we serve.”

Matt Hodgson, partner and head of Claritas’ Manchester office, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Ses and Sam to the partnership team at Claritas and absolutely delighted for Caroline and Mark who’ve both contributed hugely to the success of the Innovations Taxes service line. The beauty of being part of a rapidly growing business is the opportunities it can present to progress based on merit, which is clearly demonstrated here.”
