Azets has appointed Leigh Davenport as a tax partner to its Yorkshire team to support the firm’s increased demand for specialist tax advice.
Davenport, a chartered accountant, has gained “extensive experience” during a 25-year career at KPMG and PwC, advising some of Yorkshire’s public and privately-owned businesses; from family and owner managed to private equity backed and listed companies.
Davenport will be based in Leeds and in his new role he will provide practical support to a diverse range of SME clients, as well as manage complex tax issues, access relevant tax incentive opportunities and implement tax planning.
As well as holding a leadership position, Davenport will work alongside the tax team in Yorkshire and support Azets nationally on work within private equity.
Azets said that Davenport’s appointment is part of the wider growth plan for Azets, where the company looks “to further strengthen and expand its regional coverage and capabilities”.
Davenport said: “Azets continues to grow rapidly in Yorkshire and I am looking forward to playing a key role in the development and expansion of the team who are committed to delivering high-quality support and value to clients in Yorkshire and across the UK.”
Becky Maguire, regional head of tax and Leeds office managing partner, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Leigh to Azets, as we continue to grow our teams in line with demand. He brings a wealth of tax experience and Leigh’s skills will allow us to further support clients across a multitude of sectors, as well as develop the teams, in line with our growth strategy.”
