Haines Watts has welcomed five new members to the firm whilst also announcing seven internal promotions.
More than half of the promotions come from the tax incentives and reliefs team, including Jessica Brook who has been promoted to associate partner, joining the firm’s leadership team.
With over eight years of experience in the tax industry, Brook joined the firm from a Big Four firm as an assistant manager. Going forward she will oversee the growth and development of the team.
Commenting on her promotion, Brook said: “I joined Haines Watts in 2021 looking for a better work-life balance and an opportunity to make a difference – Haines Watts definitely delivers all that and more.
“Haines Watts has such a special, people-focused and forward-thinking culture. A big part of that is thanks to the leadership team. I’m honoured and proud to be given this opportunity to join them in making those decisions which will help us continue to grow and be a great place to work.”
Her promotion comes alongside the appointment of Jamie McLellan, who has joined the North East team from another Haines Watts office. The incentives and reliefs team will be supporting innovative businesses through the huge changes in the R&D tax landscape.
Elsewhere in the firm, there were senior promotions across the corporation tax, audit and marketing teams, whilst 10 new delegates joined the firm’s accredited talent development programmes.
Managing partner Donna Bulmer said: “As a firm we have so much to be proud of this year. We’ve taken part in an array of different activities in collaboration with our charity partner Streetwise – from suicide prevention training, and self-defence classes to fundraising activities.
“We have launched our new graduate recruitment programme; had more team members join and graduate from our talent development programmes and welcomed more great people to our team.”
She added: “I’m particularly proud to welcome Jess to our leadership team – the fourth female leader to join our senior team this year. I am also incredibly proud to be celebrating all of our internal promotions which recognise all the hard work and personal development goals achieved by the team.
“The appointments come as we look to continue to support owner managers in the North East through challenging times, whilst putting client service and our culture at the heart of everything we do. With this in mind, I’m really looking forward to what 2023/24 has to bring.”
