Monahans, the independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers in the South West, has appointed two new directors to “cement its business ambitions for 2023 and beyond”.

Becky Young, who re-joined Monahans in 2022, has been promoted to director on 1 January after 22 years in the industry.

She previously worked as a client portfolio manager at Monahans, and then went on to create and manage her own business, accumulating and managing a large clientele.

Monahans revealed her role as director will see her concentrating on expanding her client relationships and working with a team of Client managers to provide “high quality accounting services, solutions and advice to business owners across the region”.

Young’s promotion will allow managing partner Simon Tombs, also based in Trowbridge, to focus on leading the growth strategy for the practice.

Reflecting on Young’s successes, Simon Tombs, managing partner, said: “I am delighted to see Becky progress to Director. She has been an invaluable asset to Monahans for a number of years, always providing outstanding services and forming strong relationships, and I am excited to see how she steers the business in the future.

“Becky has returned to Monahans with wider experience, invaluable knowledge and skills that only running your own business will teach you, giving her the niche understanding and ability to relate to many of our clients.”

Young added: “I am delighted to be one of the new Directors at our Trowbridge office. It has been fantastic to see the business grow over the years and I am excited to be a part of Monahans’ promising future.”

In February, Young will be joined by another director, whose background has focussed on managing Corporate and Business services at key firms for the last decade.

The appointments come alongside the news that Monahans is relocating to a new office in Trowbridge to accommodate its changing footprint. The new office, based at County Gate, County Way, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 7FJ, will facilitate the company’s expansion and help it fulfil its key goals in the coming years.
