Carston has announced its acquisition of Davies Williams, an established practice specialising in SMEs in the legal and medical sectors, after a takeover was finalised on Monday 31 October.

It is reported that this investment aims to accelerate the firm’s expansion as the largest independent practice in Cardiff, while also providing succession for the staff and Davies Williams’ clients.

Following the transaction, the existing partners at Davies Williams will remain as consultants to ensure a “smooth transition and continuity of services” to their existing client base.

Davies Williams was founded in 1950 and supported clients across the Welsh capital and West of England by offering a range of accountancy, auditing, taxation and business finance services.

Following the deal, Davies Wiliams has also become part of the ETL Global network of professional services firms, which employs 20,000 people in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Jon Rees, managing director of Carston, said: “This is an exciting time for Carston and an opportunity to strengthen its personalised offering to owner-managed businesses in Cardiff and the surrounding areas.

“The firm remains dedicated to providing a highly personal, responsive and proactive commitment to help clients deal with the issues that affect their business on a day-to-day basis.”

He added: “We feel the company values of Davies Williams align well with our ethos, and we’re excited to welcome them on board as part of Carston and the wider ETL Global family.”
