Sedulo has appointed Sarah Richards as its national group head of tax.

Richards previously held major roles at Deloitte, EY and most recently Collinson Group, where she led the global tax function as head of group tax.

In her new role, she will be based out of the London branch of Sedulo while directing the entire tax team across the United Kingdom.

Sedulo operates nationwide with offices in London, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester, offering services in accountancy, taxation, business consultancy, forensic accounting, financial planning, IT consultancy, mergers and acquisitions.

It has grown by 25% in terms of new business generation over the last 12 months and recently opened a new office in Liverpool. The group said it expects to repeat this growth in 2023 after undergoing a restructure to support its national ambitions, focusing on the London market.

Sedulo founder Paul Cheetham-Karcz said: “We are delighted to have recruited an individual as experienced as Sarah to lead our tax team across the Personal Tax, Corporate Tax, and Private Client Services that Sedulo Group offer. Her previous role included overseeing different taxes across dozens of countries, and given the ambitions of our clients, this will be imperative to our plans moving forward.

“We have further National Head appointments imminent as we look to expand our presence in London and further our growth across the UK as a whole, in line with the 25% achieved during 2022. We aim to become a real driving force in the market to a client base looking for a strong advisory partner to develop and grow with.”

Richards added: “I thoroughly enjoyed my position at Collinson Group, but when I was approached by Sedulo, having looked at their impressive recent growth, coupled with their exciting future plans, it was an opportunity I could not resist.

“Over the next 12 months we will be recruiting further in the team, across all areas of tax. We are currently in the market for a Trust Tax Advisor to join our Private Clients Team, as well as a Head of Corporate Tax. I look forward to shaping a world class tax team over the next several years.”
