Azets has announced the appointments of Rob Young as the director of restructuring and insolvency and Andy Davis, who is taking up the role of strategic advice director within the R&I team.

The news of Azets’ hiring within its R&I practice comes as the firm looks to increase its specialist offering across the UK, showing the firm’s commitment to “supporting mid-market businesses through challenging economic times”.

It is reported that Davis has spent the past 28 years in senior roles within Lloyds Banking Group, where most recently he led the ‘large corporate business support’ unit.

In addition he has experience as a restructuring practitioner with a reputation for senior level engagement, resolving commercial and distressed situations.

Young reportedly joins the firm from RSM where he was a restructuring and recovery director for the past 15 years. His principal focus is said to be on the provision of restructuring advice to mid-market businesses.

Davis said: “Azets is a dynamic, forward-thinking firm, and one I have long admired. It has successfully developed a strong reputation regionally and nationally, with significant opportunity for further growth. I am delighted to be joining at such an exciting time for Azets and during such a critical time for UK businesses.”

Young added: “’Azets is an exciting, growing business, and I am absolutely thrilled to take up this opportunity. As the market faces up to difficult challenges, I look forward to working alongside my new colleagues to help clients with their restructuring needs.”

Colin Haig, national head of restructuring at Azets UK, said: “It’s an honour and privilege to have Andy and Rob join our expanding team. Both bring with them a wealth of experience and thriving networks full of industry contacts which our clients will benefit from.

“We exist for the sole reason of helping businesses find a way through economic hardship. Andy and Rob will ensure even more businesses get that support and we’re looking forward to welcoming more high-profile advisors in the coming months.”
