Business and advisory firm, Cowgills, has announced the appointment of James Marshall as the firm’s new director of deal originations in order to “support both the company’s rapidly growing corporate team and wider group”.

The news of Marshall’s appointment follows the recent expansion of the transaction services team and a series of new partner announcements across Cowgills offices in Bolton and Liverpool in recent weeks.

It is reported that Marshall joins the firm from BGF Private Equity and was also formerly with Clearwater International, will be based out of Cowgills Manchester office in Spinningfields.

In his new role, he will be working closely with the corporate finance team and under deal origination partner, Rob Lord.

In addition, this latest appointment is said to further demonstrate Cowgills ability to attract the region’s “highest calibre” recruits from national firms of accountants, corporate finance boutiques and private equity, with its offer of exceptional benefits, flexibility and career progression.

Rob Lord, partner at Cowgills, said: “2022 has been another year of extraordinary growth for the corporate finance team and we are delighted to welcome James into the deal origination team, which will help us with identifying future opportunities and generate deal flow.

“His background is a perfect fit for our business and this is another high-quality senior appointment for Cowgills as we continue to grow rapidly.”

Marshall added: “Joining Cowgills at a time of such unprecedented growth is a really exciting opportunity and I am looking forward to supporting the team and working closely with Rob Lord to continue to drive the business forward.”
