Kreston Reeves has strengthened its tax team with the appointment of a new tax disputes expert.
George-Thomas Guilherme-Fryer joined the firm on 22 August as a director and will now lead the firm’s Tax Disputes and Risk Management team.
According to the firm, he brings “considerable” expertise and insight in tax disputes to the firm, having started his career as an inspector at HMRC and spending time in its criminal investigations unit, before building a tax disputes practice in the Midlands.
He is said to be recognised for his expertise in tax dispute resolution, voluntary disclosures and tax risk management.
Guilherme-Fryer said: “My roots are in the South East and to be able to return with my family and build a tax disputes practice at Kreston Reeves is a wonderful opportunity.
“The firm has a first-class reputation for tax services provided to wealthy individuals and businesses across the region and I am excited to have joined the team and look forward to contributing to its continued growth.”
Daniel Grainge, partner and head of Tax at Kreston Reeves, added: “HMRC has in recent years adopted an increasingly tough stance on revenue collection, and businesses and individuals need specialist advice to ensure they get the right result.
“We are thrilled by George-Thomas’s move to the firm to lead our Tax Disputes and Risk Management team – he will be a valued asset to the firm and our clients. George-Thomas’s appointment continues the growth and investment in our high-quality tax team.”
