KPMG has announced the appointment of Ben Lucas as the new head of its asset management practice.

Lucas currently leads KPMG’s wealth and asset management (WAM) consulting practice, which is said to serve clients across the entire breadth of the investment management industry. He has also worked extensively in senior strategy and transformation roles based in London, New York and Paris.

Prior to joining KPMG, Lucas was reportedly a partner at another consulting firm in its asset management practice. Alongside his new appointment, he will continue in his role as global head of asset management consulting.

Karim Haji, EMA and UK head of financial services at KPMG, said: “I would like to congratulate Ben on his promotion and thank Rachel Hanger for all her achievements over the last three years.  Under her leadership, Rachel has overseen a 40% increase in asset management revenue with growth across all capabilities.

“Since joining KPMG nearly three years ago, Ben’s relentless focus on culture and clients has helped strengthen our asset management consulting capability. His innovative style, ambitious vision and client centric approach, combined with deep and extensive board level relationships makes him the ideal candidate to lead our growth ambitions for the wider asset management sector.”

Ben Lucas, head of asset management at KPMG UK, added: “I am pleased to be taking on this new challenge at such a significant time for our industry. We have a huge opportunity to build on the great work we are already doing with clients across the entire wealth and asset management spectrum and I’m looking forward to helping them navigate the rapidly evolving landscape.”
