Sharma is a tax partner based in the real estate and construction group in London.

BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm, has announced the appointment of Hira Sharma as the firm’s new national head of real estate, effective 4 July.

He will take over from Geraint Jones who is stepping aside after two years in the role.

Sharma said: “While many of our real estate and construction clients have proved themselves to be remarkably resilient throughout the pandemic, rapidly changing macro-economic conditions are posing a set of unique and complex challenges.

“I look forward to leading our team to help our real estate and construction clients address these challenges and take advantage of the new opportunities presented by a rapidly changing investment landscape.”

BDO has one of the largest real estate teams in the UK, with over 300 people advising on UK and international assurance, tax and transactional matters. The firm works with a range of real estate and construction businesses ranging from some of the largest investors globally to privately owned, highly entrepreneurial organisations.
