Leading international law firm, Proskauer, has appointed Adrian Cohen as partner for the firm’s London-based Business Solutions, Governance, Restructuring and Bankruptcy group.

Cohen has more than twenty years of experience, having spent the majority of his career advising on aspects of corporate restructuring and insolvency law for sponsors, debtors, lenders, commercial counterparties and insolvency officeholders. His experience crosses multiple sectors including real estate finance, hotels and leisure, media and entertainment, aircraft finance, infrastructure and project finance.

He is also “well-versed” on multijurisdictional matters, according to the firm, frequently working on mandates with a European and Middle East element. In addition, he has experience working for lenders including banks and funds, agents, security agents, sponsors and corporate borrowers.

Cohen received his LL.B from The London School of Economics and Political Science and joined Proskauer from Clifford Chance.

Proskauer said it has seen “huge growth” to its London office of late, announcing a number of partner arrivals, such as Barry Newman as a partner in finance practice, Rebecca Villarreal as partner in M&A practice, and Peter Olds as partner in the Private Funds group.

Proskauer’s London office provides a comprehensive platform including public and private M&A, corporate real estate, leveraged buyouts and joint ventures, restructurings, finance and fund formation, as well as specialties such as tax, regulation, employment and dispute resolution.

Steven Davis, co-head of the London office, said: “Adrian is an excellent lawyer, with a wealth of experience both domestically and internationally. We are excited to welcome him to Proskauer. Adrian is well-known and well-regarded in the market and his arrival bolsters our team in London and across the global firm.”

Mary Kuusisto, co-head of the London office, said: “I am delighted to welcome Adrian to Proskauer. With new legislation and the impact of the pandemic, as well as other market factors, we are likely to see a surge in restructuring activity in the UK and across the world.

“Adrian’s international experience will help us meet this demand and ensure that our clients receive the best advice and support they could need.”

Adrian Cohen added: “I am thrilled to join Proskauer and continue to help build and shape the success of the Business Solutions, Governance, Restructuring and Bankruptcy Group. As the market continues to change, I look forward to working alongside my new colleagues to help clients with their restructuring needs.”
