Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Jill Halford as its national head of not-for-profit, effective 1 July 2022.
She will replace Phil Cliftlands, who will take on the role of regional managing partner for BDO’s offices in the South East.
In her new role, Halford will build on the firm’s existing position as an auditor and advisor to UK charities and housing associations, as well as higher education organisations.
Halford is an audit partner and national head of charities, having led the charity assurance and advisory team since joining BDO over three years ago.
She has spent over 20 years working with the sector and has experience working with complex not-for-profit organisations.
BDO provides a range of internal and external audit, tax, corporate finance, business restructuring and advisory services to a number of the not-for-profit organisations across the UK.
Halford said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this role at such an exciting time and look forward to taking the firm through the next phase of development. We have had great success over the past five years under Phil’s leadership and I plan to continue delivering this with the same enthusiasm and dedication, in addition to continuing my work in the charities sector.
“The fact that BDO’s core purpose and firm values link so well with the wider public benefit of our clients means a lot to me. Being able to marry my personal values, and that of the firm’s, with the clients that I serve and knowing that we are making a real difference to society is why I come to work every day.”
