Azets bolsters audit practice with senior appointments

Azets is developing new Risk Assurance and Technology Risk Assurance Centres of Excellence in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.

Azets has promoted Lindsey Tyler to UK head of audit and Gary Devlin to UK head of internal audit, in a bid to strengthen the firm’s UK audit and assurance practice.

In her new role, Tyler will focus on delivering Azets’ UK audit growth strategy and developing the firm’s national training strategy to ensure “the highest quality audits are delivered in the most efficient and consistent way for clients”.

Based in Hertford, she will implement a new coaching and mentoring program to enhance career development for Azets’ cohort of young auditors.

Tyler is an experienced leader in audit services; she has spent 13 years with KPMG before joining Azets in 2017, and she has experience working with clients across a variety of sectors.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh-based Devlin will lead a team of over 50 staff, focusing on the development of Azet’s new Risk Assurance and Technology Risk Assurance Centres of Excellence in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, and advising clients on preparing for UK SOX compliance.

In his new role, he will deliver a range of internal audit services, encompassing risk assurance and technology risk assurance services to public and private sector organisations across the UK.

The risk assurance and technology risk assurance client base includes organisations in education, government, utilities, infrastructure, security, finance, third sector and business.

Additionally, Devlin has expertise in the provision of internal and external audit services, having advised many public, private, and third sector clients during his career spanning over 20 years.

Chris Horne, CEO of Azets, added: “On behalf of our colleagues I would like to congratulate both Lindsey and Gary on their well-deserved promotions. They have made a major contribution to the outstanding reputation the business has earned across the UK for the quality of our audit services.

“The expanding client base and the development of the new Risk Assurance and Technology Risk Assurance Centres are testimony to the strength and potential of this key area of Azets’ business. Lindsey and Gary will make a major contribution to the next stage of our development and growth, and we wish them every success in their new roles.”
