Deloitte appoints real estate M&A partner

Abhishek Jaiswal joins from Bank of America

Abhishek Jaiswal has joined Deloitte’s financial advisory practice as a partner to head its real estate mergers and acquisitions services.

Jaiswal has over 17 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and principal investments.

He joins Deloitte from Bank of America, where he was a lead real estate investment banker.

Fenton Burgin, head of advisory corporate finance, said: “As transaction activity picks up in the real estate and infrastructure sectors, Abhishek brings a wide range of senior client relationships and depth of experience in mergers and acquisitions.

“Along with recent hires in Germany and Scandinavia, Abhishek’s appointment underscores the firm’s commitment to a sector going through the biggest period of change in the last 20 years.”

Nigel Shilton, head of real assets advisory, said: “As we come out of the pandemic, the real estate and infrastructure sectors are experiencing structural reform leaving some questioning if we will ever return to pre-pandemic practices.

“These rapid changes are presenting significant opportunities for investors and other major stakeholders. We are excited to combine mergers and acquisitions, debt, transaction support and tax advisory services in one proposition. With over fifty partners, the team is one of the largest in the UK market.”

Jaiswal added: “I am delighted to join Deloitte to lead the Real Estate mergers and acquisitions business, building a market leading offering. Global public and private investors are increasingly focused on building large scale multi-asset platforms across sectors.

“These include logistics, distribution, key infrastructure, social housing, commercial and industrial properties, renewables, hotels and leisure. Deloitte’s team dedicated to the sector put us in a unique position to advise our clients.”
