International tax, audit, and advisory firm Mazars has announced the appointment of Suresh Patel as partner in the group’s public sector assurance practice.

In the role, Patel will be tasked with developing the team, while growing the wider national public sector assurance business.

Patel will be based in London, supporting the company’s commitment to audit quality and strengthening its links with other Mazars teams internationally.

Patel had previously worked at the company between 2012 and 2016, before joining Big Four firm EY for a stint as an executive director and then an associate partner.

Peter Cudlip, partner and head of public services at Mazars, said that the group is “delighted to welcome Suresh back” to the firm.

He added: “His expertise in Public Sector assurance will be invaluable as we continue to develop the range and depth of services we are able to offer our clients.

“His leadership and experience will be a huge asset in supporting the fantastic team we have across the UK.”
