The pair will specialise in investigations, supporting clients’ litigation decision-making, as well as risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Both Patel and Higginson will join the team of investigations and business intelligence experts composed of Annabel Kerley and Sarah Keeling.
Kerley said that it is a “delight” to work in “a team of partners that have previously worked together”.
She added: “To be successful, organisations will continue to need the type of skilled sectoral expertise and data-driven insights that Hitesh and David bring to our already strong team.”
Previously a partner at KPMG’s forensics arm for over 13 years, Patel’s career has largely revolved around the application of advanced forensic technology and data analytic capabilities that protect clients’ commercial interests.
Higginson joins the group from six years at EY’s forensic investigation services team, and has also acted in both KPMG’s audit and forensics departments.
Christopher Martinez, co-founder and managing partner at StoneTurn, said: “Hitesh and David are highly respected investigations and compliance experts and represent a calibre of adviser that is highly sought-after and valued across the globe.”
He added that the group welcomes the duo to its “growing global team”, as the firm is experiencing a “growing demand for senior-level investigation experts” due to economic downturns and pandemic-related fraud.
