Moore Kingston Smith adds pair of partners

Damian Ryan has been appointed externally, while Claire Roberts has been promoted at the firm

Moore Kingston Smith has announced the appointment of Damian Ryan as corporate finance partner and promotion of Claire Roberts to tax partner at the group.

Effective 4 May 2021, Ryan will lead the firm’s technology and media arm from Moore Kingston Smith’s West End media specialist office.

Providing a wealth of corporate finance experience to the position, Ryan established ICAN, the digital marketing agency, before moving into advisory services for media, marcomms, and technology businesses.

He said: “Success is all about bringing value and industry expertise to clients, so I’m really looking forward to joining this truly connected, engaged and passionate network.

“That’s what clients need to reach their potential – trusted advisers who always have their best interests both at heart and in mind and bring them solutions accordingly.”

As tax partner, Roberts will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, co-managing the private client team, and leading performance streamlining initiatives.

Roberts has most recently been tasked with advising a range of UK and international clients on all areas of private client tax.

She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the partnership at Moore Kingston Smith during such an exciting period of growth, both within the firm and the profession.”

Maureen Penfold, managing partner at the company, said that the appointments “support our growth plans”.

She added: “We’re delighted Damian is joining us – his digital expertise will bring new ideas and fresh thinking to our people.

“It’s wonderful to welcome Claire as a partner, she has been with the firm since 2017 and her professionalism and strategic mindset will be an asset to our clients.”
