Menzies has announced the appointment of Andrew Norman as its new director of VAT.

Norman joins Menzies from one of the country’s ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, as part of Menzies’’ growth plans for its VAT advisory services division.

Furthermore, Norman also spent four years at HMRC, beginning as a VAT Assurance officer, before progressing to a VAT Enquiries officer, where he was responsible for dealing with VAT enquiries and supporting staff training.

On his appointment, Norman said: “I am thrilled and delighted to be working with such an experienced and knowledgeable tax team at Menzies LLP.

“It is an exciting time for VAT advisory services and I’m very much looking forward to the rewarding challenges ahead – helping the firm to go from strength to strength.”

Richard Godmon, tax partner at Menzies: said: “The timing of Andrew’s arrival is perfect. The past few years have seen the VAT advisory services team expand to meet our clients’ needs and the demands of the business community following Brexit.

“In addition to his wealth of technical expertise, Andrew will be adding value to the firm’s training and development programme and providing specialist support to clients were required.”
