Garbutt and Elliott Wealth Management (G+E) has announced the appointment of Mark Frier as a new financial planning director.

Frier will add strength to the advice provision of the firm by looking after his own portfolio of clients, providing a personal and reliable service to individuals across the region.

This latest appointment is another example of an investment made by the firm through a balanced mix of internal promotions and external recruitment, bringing the current team to 28.

Frier joins the group from Schroders Personal Wealth, formerly Lloyds Bank where he held a variety of senior management and adviser positions in the UK, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.

With over 30 years in the industry, he brings extensive experience to the business having started his career as a clerk in Knaresborough.

Frier said: “G+E Wealth Management has an enviable reputation, and I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues to assist our clients with bespoke planning strategies in these extraordinary times.”

Robert Simpson, managing director for G+E, added: “Mark is the latest addition to the G+E Wealth team which has seen its overall headcount treble over the last three years.

“Mark has an impressive background and over his career he has advised some of the North East & Yorkshire’s wealthiest families in addition to leading teams providing advice throughout the world. I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
