Clearwater advises on Sentinel sale to Aalberts

The sale marks the exit for majority shareholder Electra Private Equity, who invested in Sentinel in 2011

Clearwater International has advised Sentinel Performance Solutions Group on its sale to Aalberts, a global industrial technology group headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The sale marks the exit for majority shareholder Electra Private Equity, who invested in Sentinel in 2011.

Based in Daresbury (UK), Sentinel specialises in the development and distribution of chemical and filtration products to clean, protect and maintain heating and cooling systems in buildings through the optimisation of water quality.

The management team of Sentinel, led by CEO David Barrett, will continue to manage the company, with Sentinel becoming the specialist water quality division within Aalberts’ hydronic flow control.

Barrett said: “We have really enjoyed working with the Clearwater International team on the successful sale of the business. From our first discussions with their team, through to completion of the sale, they have provided excellent, commercially focused support.

“I honestly do not believe that we would have achieved such a successful outcome if we had been advised by others. Clearwater International are a well-resourced, well organised and highly professional adviser who have added real value for Sentinel.”

Michael Loudon, partner, Clearwater InternationalI, added: “It has been a pleasure to work with David Barrett and his team in delivering an excellent result for all shareholders.

This transaction marks the start of an exciting new phase of growth for the business as part of the Aalberts’ family. We are confident of Sentinel’s continued success.”
