Armstrong Watson promotes first ever development member to partner

Armstrong Watson has announced that Steve McCullough, business development and marketing director, has been promoted to the role of partner. The move is a first for the firm, marking the first time anyone from its business development and marketing team has been promoted to the senior level in the firm’s 153 year history. It comes as the firm said it has “stuck to its ambitious growth plans” despite the pandemic, which has seen it “actively nurturing talent” as well as recruiting during the crisis. McCullough’s promotion “demonstrates the important role business development and marketing plays in the firm’s plans for continued growth”, according to the group. He first joined Armstrong Watson from CN Media Group (now Newsquest) in 2018 as business development and marketing director, where he was based in Carlisle and working across Armstrong Watson’s offices across the North of England and Scotland. CEO and managing partner Paul Dickson said: "Steve has led our internal team to help position the Armstrong Watson brand to reflect what the wider team do across the entire firm as we strive to help our clients run more successful and profitable businesses. “Steve and his team help support the people that are Armstrong Watson in our Quest as a business to help our clients achieve prosperity, a secure future and peace of mind by having Armstrong Watson with them.” He added: “Steve's promotion to Partner is recognition of his hard work in helping Armstrong Watson to stand out and to be recognised as the firm that is there to help and support family and owner managed businesses in the North of England and Scotland.” McCullough said: “It is a true honour to become a partner of Armstrong Watson and particularly in the context of ensuring Our Quest and brand is positioned prominently and professionally. “I couldn’t wish for a better team working with me covering all aspects of Marketing & Business Development looking after the needs of the business internally and externally.” He added: “I am extremely proud CEO and Managing Partner Paul Dickson, the Armstrong Watson board, and my fellow Partners believe in me to help grow and develop the business. “I look forward to continuing to work with my team, helping to manage challenges and make the most of the opportunities that these uncertain times present.”
